In the world, sports are the number one thing known to bring people from all walks of life together. Coming down to Ontario, there are close to 300 sports teams in the whole province. In this article, we will outline the teams that have the largest following. They are the teams that have the most fans, and they draw large crowds when they play.

Toronto Maple Leafs

In hockey, The Leafs is the most followed team in Ontario. The official colours of the club are white and navy blue. Headed by Coach Sheldon Keefe (as of 2020), they are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference, and they compete in the National Hockey league. The Leafs’ home ground is the Scotiabank arena in Toronto.

Toronto Raptors

Their home arena being the Scotiabank, the Toronto Raptors have the most followers in Ontario. Their team colours are white, red, gold, black and silver. They have won the division title six times, the championship one time and held the Conference title in 2019. Coach Nick Nurse currently heads the Raptors.

Toronto Shooting Stars

Founded in 2011, the Shooting Stars have a huge following. They are in the Canadian Lacrosse league under the leadership of Glenn Clark as the head coach. Their official colours are white, red and gold. Their home arena is the Mattamy Athletic Venter in Toronto, Ontario.

Toronto Football Club

Toronto FC’s nickname is the Reds. The nickname comes from their official clubs’ colour which is plain red when they are at home. When they have matches away from home, they wear a mix of red, white and light grey. The club’s head coach is Greg Vanney, and they won the Canadian championship team seven times. The club was founded in October 2005, and they locally play at the BMO Field in Toronto as their home ground.
